Hi Everyone,
My name is Alicia Groce. I live in MS with my amazing husband Josh Groce and twin 7yr old girls, who we adopted 4 years ago. We are blessed with a wonderful family and church family. I was diagnosed with ALS in April 2021. We are all trying to process our new normal. But what I can tell you is that God has been right by my side the whole time. He's giving me a peace that surpasses understanding. We are enjoying each moment living each day to the fullest!
Team Alicia's Anchors & Elephants
Please consider joining my team to walk to defeat ALS. I'm one of many that faces the challenges of this illness everyday. We need awareness, we need a cure! Many people do not know about ALS until they are touched by it. My family and friends know the realities all too well. We are blessed to have a village supporting us each and every day. Together we walk by faith even when we cannot see. Join our village! This year the event is virtual. You can walk where you are, or if you are a local we will do a local walk here in Hernando. More info to come.
I "walk" for me and my friend Emily Grenn Gray and everyone else out there living with ALS!
There is Another in the Fire: Alicia's Faith Journey Through ALS
https://www.facebook.com/Aliciathereisanotherinthefire/
Amotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
That’s why I’m walking. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To ensure that no one ever hears the words: “You Have ALS” again.
The past two years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families.
But, we can’t stop now. The key to a cure begins with you.
Please consider walking with me or sponsoring me. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease.
