440 days and counting….. On June 12, 2018, Philip, me and Carly & Kirk were sitting in the doctor’s office when we heard the unimaginable diagnosis of ALS. We were in shock. We were afraid and unsure of what to do next. Soon after, a good friend of the family told us about the ALS clinic and Support group in Memphis.
I simply can not imagine where we would be without the support from the ALS association of TN. Beth Bumgardner, Missy McGowen and Julia Doss are some of the most dedicated, caring individuals that I’ve ever met. Any question, help or assistance needed is gladly given from these ladies. They work tirelessly for the ALS patients and their families.
Without donations from fundraisers like this, the Support group and research needed to find a cure for ALS would not exist. We need your help to fight this disease that has changed our lives forever. Philip’s faith in God has never wavered. His strength amazes me each day. This verse, (“Be strong and courageous! For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 ) was on the first page of my journal as we traveled to Mayo Clinic. HE is with us every moment. We absolutely could not face ALS without our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
